Do OLAPLEX products contain sulfates, parabens, or phthalates?
While OLAPLEX products are formulated without SLS/SLES, Phthalates, and Parabens, some OLAPLEX products do contain safe conditioning sulfates. Please reference individual product pages for more details on that product’s ingredients.
Do OLAPLEX products contain Protein?
The majority of OLAPLEX products are formulated without protein. Select items, including the Nº.4 Bond Maintenance™ Strengthening Shampoo and Nº.6 Bond Smoother®, utilize Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein at a functional level to provide conditioning and protective benefits without depositing additional protein into the hair.
Are OLAPLEX products vegan and gluten-free?
Yes, all OLAPLEX products are Vegan and Gluten-Free.
Are any OLAPLEX products fragrance-free?
Many of OLAPLEX products feature our signature scent of grapefruit zest and sugared mint. However, the OLAPLEX Scalp Longevity Treatment is formulated without added fragrances.
Why do OLAPLEX products contain silicones or alcohols?
Some OLAPLEX products use silicones to help with smoothing, frizz control, and adding shine. Some formulas may also include safe fatty alcohols to help condition and soften the hair.
Why does the ingredient list on my product differ from the website?

There are some OLAPLEX products formulated with dry or sensitive scalps in mind such as the Scalp Longevity Treatment and the Nº.4D Clean Volume Detox Dry Shampoo. However, if you are experiencing skin or scalp issues please contact your healthcare provider. Some scalp issues may require medical attention.

What kinds of extensions can I use OLAPLEX product on?
OLAPLEX products work on extensions that are 100% human hair. The bonds in human hair used for extensions can be damaged just like the hair on our heads, and OLAPLEX’s products are scientifically formulated to penetrate and repair hair from the inside out by rebuilding broken bonds at the molecular level. When treating extensions with any products, OLAPLEX or otherwise, we recommend testing the product on a few strands before using it on the full set of extensions. Companies can label extensions as being 100% human hair as long as they contain 80% human hair or more, which can prevent OLAPLEX from being fully effective.
Will OLAPLEX products break down the adhesive agents in my extensions?
